Bittmann vs Biloxi

Noen ganger er det lov å ha skikkelig flaks! Jeg ønsket meg en grundig gjennomgang av Biloxi, og det så fort som mulig. Og Renate Bittmann hadde kansellering og plass til to (heisann, Santee, da blir det behandling på deg også gitt!) hester allerede i dag!
Biloxi er vant til å behandles, og han er også eksepsjonelt T-Y-D-E-L-I-G. Strengt tatt mangler bare teksting under, så man trenger på ingen måte Renate's rutine for å skjønne når det er noe galt. Heldigvis er hun flinkere til både å tolke nyansene og - aller viktigst - vite hva som bør gjøres, og så gjøre noe med det enn meg. Og jammen var det mye rusk å finne. Veldig forenklet så har Bilxoi mest sannsynlig gjort en kolbøtte, feks i paddocken i forbindelse med lek, slik at han har fått seg en skikkelig trøkk i nakken. Dette har forplantet seg videre bakover i kroppen, og satt seg grundig i manke og kryss, samt rundt omkring ellers. Veldig mye av adferden hans kan forklares, blant annet med nerve i klem som gjør at han ikke alltid har reagert, men av og til reagerer som om han får støt. I tillegg har dette mest sannsynlig hatt noe med den litt pussige vektøkningen hans å gjøre også.
I beste Biloxi-stil er dette ikke farlig, men vil kreve en god del behanding og tid for å ordne. Så da blir det sommerferie uten ridning i år også... Men det viktigste er naturligvis at det ikke er permanent skade gjort og at han allerede etter én behandling responderer positivt.

Sometimes you do get a break! I wanted Biloxi examined and treated properly, and as soon as possible, and due to a cancellation Renate Bittmann was able to come visit us today!
Biloxi is used to treatments, and he is extremely easy to read. But though I may not need Renate's experience to see where and when he's telling her something is wrong, I fall far short of her ability too decipher nuances and, even more importantly, know what to do, and do it! And there was a lot wrong. 
Very condensed, it would seem as if Biloxi has had a proper tumble, impacting his neck. This has gone on to affect his withers and croup too, as well as all the bits and bobs from playing with Santee. Having a pinched nerve in the neck explains a lot of his behaviour; how he has at times seemed fine, and other times as if he's been given electric shocks. In addition this has probably affected his metabolism, causing his weight gain. 
As seems always to be the case with Biloxi, this shouldn't cause permanent injury or problems, but will take time and lots of treatment to fix. So he'll have a few more "non-riding" months... But of course, the most important thing is that he will be 100% fit again, and that he responded well to his first treatment.
