It's been puring down since last night, so MLP and Biloxi were only out for about 2 hours earlier in the day. As it looked as if it might clear up a bit in the hour after Anneli was done, I thought I'd take them out with me for an hour or so while I mucked and weeded the paddock. Didn't want to take any chances so I put turn-out rugs on them both. Biloxis was soaking when I arrived, but was dry already. As he's never seen Sioux with a rug on I was interested to see his reaction, both with regards to access to the milk, and if he'd leave it alone. He started a little when I threw the rug over her back, but that was pretty much it. He then went over to inspect it closer, and was thrilled to find some velcro in the front. Leave it, said a grumpy Siuox, and that was that. He didn't leave her alone as such, but didn't try to grab the rug a single time after that. And drinking? Not a problem! Which is great as Sioux doesn't grow much of a coat, and most probably will need protection from the rain just as much as Biloxi.
