Melis og Lafrieda skulle få komme inn til Sioux, Kamila og føllene. Og det hadde nok gått helt greit om ikke Kamila fikk en liten "hjerneblødning" og løp bort fra Lita i stedet for å passe på. Akkurat hva som skjedde så vi ikke, for det var over på et blunk, men sannsynligvis har både Sioux og Lafrieda steppet inn for å passe på Lita og så har de hatt en kort disputt. Det var fred og fordraglighet i løpet av svært kort tid, og Kamila ble gjenforent med Lita, men det er en mager trøst når en av hestene har sår inn til benet. Ringte veterinær og leide flekkene opp til spylespilten hvor jeg fikk fjernet det grøvste av gjørme, blod og skitt. Sioux (og Santee) oppførte seg kjempebra, og jeg ble mange hakk roligere når jeg endelig fikk kontakt med Jochen og visste at han og "stiftemaskinen" var på vei. Dette er jo sånt som skjer når hester får være hester sammen, men jammen er jeg glad vi var der og fikk tatt oss av det med det samme!

The two other mares were due to be turned out with Sioux, Kamila and the foals. And it would have gone smoothly if Kamila didn't have a little bit of a weird reaction, running away from her foal in stead of looking after her. We don't know exactly what happened, as it was over in seconds, but most probably Sioux and Lafrieda have both stepped in to take care of Lita, causing a short dispute. Everything calmed down rapidly, with Kamila and Lita reunited, but that's of little comfort when one of the horses is - literally - cut to the bone. I called the vet and took the horses up to hose off the worst of the mud and blood. Sioux (and Santee) both behaved well, and I calmed down considerably once I knew the vet and his "stapler" were on their way. This is the kind of stuff that happens when horses are horses, together, but I am so happy we were there and could react instantly.
