Flekkulf blir altså to år i mai. Og han er altså over 162 til manken. Snart like stor som storebror...

Santee will be two in May. And he's already 16' to the withers. Almost as big as Biloxi...

Stangmålstatus

Målestaven min er ikke godkjent for offentlig måling, men den duger så absolutt. Og herved kan det rapporteres at Biloxi er ca 166 til manken (målet viser 167, men han har jo framsko på, så jeg trekker fra én centimeter), mens Santee er hele 159 til manken. Det vil si at han har vokst hele 15 centimeter i år!!!

Though my measuring staff cannot be used for official measuring, it's more than accurate enough. And the end of year measurements show that Biloxi is 166 cm to the withers (I've deducted a centimeter as he's wearing shoes in front), while Santee is a whopping 159 to the withers. This means he's grown all of 15 centimetres in a year!!!

Hvor høy?

Da Biloxi var på samme alder var han drøyt 151, så Santee leder med 4 centimeter. Og om man skal dømme etter ledd og hvordan kroppen ser ut så er det ingen tvil om at Flekkulf vokser forbi Veslebrunen. Spørsmålet er bare, hvor snart?

When Biloxi was the same age I measured him to 151, so Santee is in the lead by 4 centimetres. And judging by his joints, and how he looks there's no doubt that Santee will outgrown Biloxi. The question is, how soon?

En og en halv meter!

Santee er straks 11 måneder, og jeg lurte litt på om han fortsatt var "ponni". Bildet lyver litt, for han er nå faktisk 150 til manken. Hele 7 cm høyere enn hva Biloxi var omtrent på samme alder.


Santee will be 11 months soon, and I was wondering if he was still pony height. The image isn't quite correct, as he's 150 cm (14'3"+) to the withers now. That's 7 cm or 2,5" more than Biloxi at the same age.

Fortsatt min Veslebrun...

men han vokser enda! Biloxi har sett litt slankere ut, og det er nok en kombinasjon av mindre næring i gresset, og at han har blitt minst en centimeter høyere. Nå er han i hvert fall 163 til manken!

He will always be My Littlest Bay, but he's still growing. Biloxi is looking a little slimmer, and that's probably because there are less nutrients in the grass, and that he's a bit taller. He is at least 16'1" now!

Status på Santee

Per i dag er Flekkulf 125 cm til manken og 127 cm til krysset.

As of today My Littlest Pinto Pony is 12'1" at the withers and 12'2" at the croup.

Bittelilleloxi

To år og ikke helt 160 cm i manken, nei, best å vanne litt sånn at han gror fortere!

Two years and not quite 15'3" yet? Better water him to ensure he grows faster!

10 cm til, så er vi i mål!

Som mange påpeker er ikke Lilleloxi så bitteliten lenger. Han har vokst jevnt og trutt, og dagens måling viste at han nå er 158 cm til manken. Tipper han er over 160 før han fyller to, og da er det begrenset hvor bekymret jeg er for at han ikke blir "stor nok". Han trenger ikke bli like stor som mamsen, men over 165 hadde vært fint. Og 168 helt perfekt.

He just keeps growing, and even though he's still my littlest horse I'm not worried he'll be too small for me. He clocked in at 15'2", and I think he might be over 15'3" before he's two. I don't think he'll be as big as Sioux, but around 16'2" would be absolutely perfect.

Sakte men sikkert...

Biloxi er nå 153 til manken, og bittelitt høyere bak. Regner med at han fortsetter å vokse "litt" til, men synes det går lovlig sent nå altså... Tenk om jeg får en sånn bittebitteliten hest under 165 cm i manken da? *iiiik*

Biloxi is around 15'1" to the whiters now, and a bit higher in the croup. I expect him to grow a "little" more, and am worried about it slowing down... What if he becomes a "tiny" thing under 16'3"? *eeek*

Målehjelp

Fadder Iselin var innom for å låne målestang. Da benyttet jeg meg av henne for å dobbeltsjekke at jeg ikke "juger på meg" hest. Jeg synes nemmelig at Biloxi ser riktig så liten og ponniaktig ut enda, og kan ikke skjønne at han er over en og en halv meter høy allerede. Men kontrollmålingen levnet ingen tvil, han er minst 151,5 høy!

Godparent Iselin stopped by to borrow the measuring staff. So I used the opportunity to double check that Biloxi is in fact a horse. I think he looks far to little and ponyish, and have trouble accepting that he's nearly 15hh. But there's no doubt, he is at least 151,5 cm across the withers!

Minstehesten er enda litt større

Ja, nå var det på tide å finne fram målestaven igjen, og etter å ha kontrollmålt to ganger viser deg seg altså at Biloxi er hest med god margin. Jepp. Han er nå 151 i manken og snaut 153 over krysset. Nå har jeg ikke ponni lenger... Han er fortsatt litt rund, men ikke overvektig, og selvom bildet Katrin tok igår er litt uskarpt så viser det tildels hvor jevn og fin han er i kroppen nå.

It was time to measure Biloxi again, and after checking twice - he's only little, after all - I can now confirm that he's almost 15'! 151 cm to the withers and not quite 153 to the croup. No longer a pony... He's still a bit round, but not overweight, and though the photo Katrin took is a bit fuzzy, it still gives you an impression of his confirmation right now.
