They´re not alone! The yard´s most recent addition, filly foal "Lita" and her mum Kamila were turned out with Sioux and Santee. Though both foals have seen other horses, and each other, they´ve not really been this close. And it was very, very exciting. And a little scary. Both were curious, and ready to say hello, but were told - in no uncertain terms - not yet, by Kamila and Sioux. "Lita" was beyond cute, nickering every time she came close to the skewbalds, as if to check that they spoke "horse" too.
Kamila and Sioux are comfortable with eachother, so there was no drama. Santee and "Lita" both ran around a bit, but just to run, and sticking fairly close to their mums. But then the yard cats came down to inspect, and there was a bit of action before the mums ascertained that they weren´t wolves or bears in disguise. A bit too much movevement for Sioux, so she´ll be stiff tomorrow, but on the other hand, the swelling in her hindlegs was noticably reduced.
