Blågul oppdatering

Det blir lite med bilder, men jeg har jevnlig kontakt med Camp Biloxi i Sverige. Etter en lang og fin juleferie er han så smått i gang med trening. Han har på sal, blir tømmekjørt osv. Siden han har herjet og lekt mye skal han få en fullstendig gjennomgang av equiterapeut før Eva setter seg opp. I tillegg kommer tannlegen ganske snart. Men, selv om livet for det meste består av mat og lek med venner, er det altså litt jobbing på gang også. Og Biloxi er seg selv lik. Han eeelsker det, og møter Eva blid i porten hver eneste gang.

There aren't many photos, but I am in regular contact with Camp Bilxoi in Sweden. After a long holiday Biloxi is slowly coming back in training. Wearing his saddle, being long reined etc. As there has been a lot of - literal - horseplay and romping an equitherapist is checking him over before Eva hops on. In addition the dentist is due soon too. But, for now life is all about food, hanging out with friends and playing with Eva. Who reports that Biloxi is as enthusiastic as he always has been, always up for anything, coming to meet her at the gate if she calls him.

Bus-loxi

Jeg snakker jevnlig med Eva, men blir ekstra glad når det dukker opp en liten melding i innboksen som jeg kan dele her på bloggen:

Biloxi stod som vanligt med toppade öron och väntade vid grinden när jag kom, bara det kan få den suraste kärring på gott humör. Vi gick in och på vägen var jag tvungen att stoppa tillbaka plasten som hängde ut på den stora sopptunnan, Biloxi hjälpte till, han står liksom helt bredvid mig och studerar mig och när man vänder på huvudet så krockar man nästan och han ser bara super nöjd ut (ler).

När vi kommer in tar jag av honom grimman precis innanför stall dörren och räknar med att han skall gå in i sin box, eftersom den är full med hö, vilket han också gör men halvvägs in tar han en tugga, ångrar sig sedan, backar ut och vänder sig mot dörr öppningen upp till ponnisarna han tittar sedan på mig och går sedan resolut upp för trappstegen, hälsar artigt på alla "sina" ponnisar tittar om det finns någon mat kvar hos Miramiss, jag meckar på grimman öppnar den lilla ytter dörren och leder ut honom och in i hans egen box. Han är bara helt rå, full av upptåg och bus och jag blir helt glad och på gott humör av att vara med honom, han är som en hund man upphör aldrig att förvånas.

Det er så utrolig hyggelig å lese at Biloxi og Eva har det så fint sammen. Han er helt åpenbart 100% trygg på henne, og som hun sier på telefonen så er han supercool og stødig, men med utrolig mye positiv energi og overskudd. Han er lydig og respektfull, men kommer allikevel med "forslag" og innspill.

I speak with Eva regularly, but am extra pleased when I get a mail I can share here on the blog. Biloxi is well behaved, cool and steady, but ever the fountain of "good ideas" and positive energy. He always meets her at the gate, ears pricked, and happily follows her around like a dog. Close, but not too close. When she stopped to stuff some errant plastic back in the trash he's happy to "give her a hoof", not even remotely worried, just curious. And pleased to be part of the action as it were.

Back in the stables she takes his headcollar off to let him walk into his box - where food awaits - on his own. He reaches in to grab a mouthful of hay, before gently backing up, walking over to the "human friendly" opening between his stable and the one where the ponies are. After looking over at Eva, as if to gauge her reaction, he then hops up the step and into the other stable. Says hi to the ladies (they're all his friends) and checks if there's any food to steal before letting himself be "captured" and led out through a narrow little door and back into his own stable. Absolutely thrilled with finally having been able to explore the ponies' quarters.

From her messages, and our conversations, there is no doubt that Eva and Biloxi are forming a bond, and that he's thriving at the new yard. I can't wait to visit them again soon, and take some photos to show the connection!

Utvandreroppdatering

Jeg fikk en i-siste-liten gratisbillett til KOHS, og satt og så fantastiske para-ryttere i aksjon når telefonen ringte. Det var Eva, så selvfølgelig måtte jeg ta den. Og det var bare gladnyheter hele veien. Han er bare blid, glad og positiv. Har fått enda flere firbente venner, inspisert enda en av de store havnehagene - denne med leskur for regnsky hest - og virkelig gjort seg husvarm. Eva var snill nok til å ta en kortversjon på mail, som jeg klipper og limer inn:

Go och glad kex-choklad måste ändras till Go och glad biloxi-choklad! Okomplicerad har just fått en ny innebörd. Tömkört idag med alla rätt, när han inte förstod vände han sig om tittade på mig och bad om att jag skulle ta det en gång till, men på norsk! Står själv i stallet som om han inte gjort något annat, fått ny frisyr och lika blid, dom brukar ju kunna "knorra lite" när man rycker man. Men bäst var nog när han mötte Sebbe, en till stor fläck, tror nog att vi i Sverige scorade några poäng där ja... och Sebbe 21 år ung till och med lekte i hagen i dag, super nöjd.

I was at the Kingsland Oslo Horse Show, watching the para-riders in action, when Eva rang. And the update left me with a great big grin on my face. He's obviously settling in perfectly, behaving well, getting on with horses and people alike. She long reined him, and he did a great job. If there was something he didn't understand, he would stop and turn his head to look at her as if to say "could you repeat that, in Norwegian, please?". He was happy to be in the stables, all alone, to be groomed and have his mane pulled. But her favourite bit was when he met with Sebbe, their 17' warmblood pinto gelding. Apparently Biloxi's expression was priceless, and they got on like a house on fire. With 21 year old Sebbe and Biloxi playing like young colts. Bliss!

Biloxi & Eva

Noen som tror at disse to "kanskje" kan få det fint sammen? Eva har mer enn nok å henge fingrene i, men hun liker prosjekter. Og hun har alltid hatt ekstra sansen for Veslebrunen. I tillegg til viljen, har hun evnen og erfaringen slik at Biloxi kommer til å få oppgaver han har forutsetninger for å beherske, men jevnlig bli utfordret og trent. Dette blir bare så braaa!

Do you think that these two might perhaps get along? Eva has more than enough to do, but she likes projects. And she's always had a soft spot for Biloxi. In addition to wanting to do this, she has the skills and experience to make sure he's given tasks he has the ability to cope with, while being challenged. This is going to be great!

Fanklubblederne og Loxen

Jacob tok disse bildene av Veslebrunen med to av menneskene som digger ham mest i hele vide verden. Biloxi er av den umettelige typen både når det gjelder mat og kjærlighet, og han er i himmelen når han går på deilig gress og får tonnevis av oppmerksomhet.

Jacob took these photos of My Littlest Bay Pony with two of the people who adore him the most in the whole wide world. Biloxi has a voracious appetite for life, food and love, so he's in heaven when he's turned out on grass AND gets tons of attention.

Tre på tur

Jeg overlot Biloxi til Eva, og de tuslet avgårde mot paddocken hvor Bull og unghesten Nemo allerede ventet. Med hester i paddocker på "alle kanter" var Biloxi ganske storøyd og bratt i nakken, men han trippetuslet pent ved Evas side, og brød seg filla om at Freda fulgte hakk i hel. Når han skjønte at de var "framme" gikk halen i været, men utover det var det null fjas.

I let Eva take Biloxi, and they headed towards the paddock where Bull and a yearling named Nemo were waiting. With horses turned out in paddocks "all round" Biloxi was all eyes and ears, but still walked beside Eva, not at all worried about the dog Freda at his heels. Once he realised they were at the paddock where he would be turned out his tail went up, but that was it.
